Big-5 leagues · player valuation model
—
—
The Valuation Model prices every Big-5 player-season from what he actually does on the pitch for his position — age, playing time and the squad around him included — then sets that fair value beside his Transfermarkt market price. Where the two disagree by a wide margin, somebody is either a bargain or a risk.
A centre-back is rated on tackles, interceptions, clearances and blocks. A striker on goals, assists and shots. Four separate models, one per position.
Age, how much of the season he actually plays, and the quality of the squad around him. A young regular at a big club is priced differently from a veteran squad player.
The result is a fair value. Set it against his actual market price: higher means the market has him cheap, lower means it's paying for something the numbers don't show.

Fair value is each position's model price from his own statistics, age, minutes and squad context. Key stats are the two statistics that matter most for his position — goals and assists for a forward, tackles and interceptions for a defender, passing and chance creation for a midfielder, saves and goals conceded for a goalkeeper. Confidence reads the tightness of the model's own likely range around its price estimate — a wide range scores lower, not an external audit. A ⚠ next to minutes marks a small sample (under half his team's minutes this season) — his fair value there leans on squad and league context more than his own numbers, so read it as an early guess, not a settled one. Market value is a Transfermarkt estimate, not a transfer fee. Statistics from FotMob. Click any row for the full breakdown.
Fair value sits below market price — often a big-club reputation, a long contract, or a young player bought on promise.
